Our Process

Who We Are

We are inspired by the scents, sights and sounds of the natural world, homestead comforts, as well as the timeless pursuits of beauty, connection, and peace. Our founder, Brittney James, is a student of history and folklore, a chandler and herbalist of over 15 years, writer, artist and designer. Each and every storybook candle is handpoured in our studio with the utmost care and intention, using phthalate-free, paraben-free, coconut soy wax, lead-free and zinc-free wicks, and glass jars with aluminum or glass tops. Our soothing bath blends are hand-blended with coconut powder or magnesium salt and organic herbs, true to our shop's beginnings as a botanical wellness apothecary over 10 years ago. Di Jeli Herbals continue to share unique, fine offerings that elevate self care rituals and personal spaces, pouring care and healing intention into every offering.

We use 100% coconut soy wax that is paraben-free, phthalate-free, and cruelty-free, paired with lead-free and zinc-free wicks for a cleaner, safer burn. Each candle is handpoured into reusable glass jars and packaged using recycled wrapping paper and recyclable boxes, ensuring that every detail, from wax to packaging, supports mindful living and environmental responsibility.

Q: When will my order ship?
A: Each candle is carefully prepared and packaged by hand. Orders typically ship within 2-4 business days, excluding holidays and collection launches.

Candle Experience & Care 

Q: How can I achieve the best burn experience?
 A: For the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface of the candle, do not burn for more than 4 hours. This creates a clean, consistent burn for future use.

Q: How long should I burn my candle?
A: We recommend burning your candle for 2–4 hours at a time and allowing it to cool completely before relighting.

Q: Why should I trim the wick?
A: Trimming the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each burn promotes a cleaner flame, and extends the life of your candle.

Q: Why does my candle wax have textures?
A: Textured wax and frosting are natural processes that can occur in paraben-free, plant-based waxes. It is a hallmark of natural ingredients and does not affect performance or fragrance.

A: Yes. Every candle is hand-poured in small batches to ensure exceptional quality, consistency, and detail.

Q: Are your fragrances safe and clean?
A: Yes. We use high-quality fragrance oils that are phthalate-free, paraben-free, cruelty free, and thoughtfully formulated for a clean, luxurious burn.

Q: Are your vessels reusable?
A: Yes. Our glass vessels are designed to be repurposed beautifully as decor, storage, or keepsake pieces after the candle has finished burning.
